Using pictures or brief descriptions, students will classify items (clean paper, food scraps, plastic bottles, soiled pizza box, glass, aluminum, yard waste, non‑recyclable plastic, etc.), give a simple reason for each choice (material type, clean vs. soiled), and recognize when an item contaminates a bin. Scope: basic material recognition, compostable food/yard waste, common recycling rules, and simple safe-disposal habits for Pre-K–Grade 2.
