Assess learners' ability to apply beginning–middle–end story structure by reordering mixed-up events from a familiar short tale and preserving each character's motivations. Students will sequence 6–8 shuffled events into a coherent beginning, middle, and end, then explain (orally, with simple sentences or drawings) how each event reflects a character's goal or feeling and how causes lead to effects. Scoring focuses on correct sequencing, explicit linkage to character motivation, and coherent causal flow; teacher scaffolding is permitted.
