Assess students' ability to read a simple neighborhood map and apply pedestrian-safety rules to plan a safe route to school. Tasks include identifying home and school landmarks, interpreting map symbols (sidewalks, crosswalks, traffic lights, busy roads), choosing and labeling the safest path with turns, explaining why that route is safer, and suggesting an alternate route for hazards.
