Items will require identification and analysis of techniques (focalization, stream of consciousness, framing, metafiction, temporal disruption), explanation of sources of unreliability (memory, bias, deceit, ideology), evaluation of effects on theme and reader interpretation, and short comparative close-reading across selected 20th-century texts.
