Assess students' understanding of the physical mechanisms behind the greenhouse effect (Earth's energy balance, atmospheric absorption and re‑emission of infrared radiation), the roles and relative impacts of major greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, N2O, water vapor), how anthropogenic increases since the industrial era produce positive radiative forcing and recent warming, and basic feedbacks and observational evidence linking greenhouse gas changes to observed climate change.
