Assess graduate-level ability to evaluate the methodological rigor, equity implications, and real-world effectiveness of community-based physical activity interventions designed to reduce cardiovascular risk among socioeconomically disadvantaged older adults. Scope includes critical appraisal of study designs (RCTs, quasi-experimental, mixed methods), risk of bias, measurement validity and reliability, statistical inference and effect sizes, subgroup and equity analyses, and interpretation of clinically meaningful CVD outcomes; plus assessment of external validity and implementation factors (reach, fidelity, scalability, sustainability, cost-effectiveness, community engagement). Expect synthesis of evidence to identify gaps, propose improvements to study or program design, and recommend evaluation metrics sensitive to equity and real-world impact.
