Assess graduate-level ability to evaluate the validity and ethical implications of automated readability and lexical-profiling tools applied to academic texts by L2 graduate students. Items will require critique of construct and criterion validity, reliability, dataset representativeness, cross-linguistic fairness, algorithmic transparency, privacy/consent, and pedagogical consequences; interpretation of empirical validation studies; and formulation of concrete methodological and ethical recommendations for responsible use and policy.
