Assess students' understanding of photosynthesis and cellular respiration at cellular and organismal levels: identify reactants and products, explain the roles of chloroplasts and mitochondria, write or interpret simplified overall equations, describe how glucose and ATP store and release energy, and compare how plants and animals obtain and use energy within ecosystems (including gas exchange and food-chain connections).
