Assess students' understanding of how U.S. federalism divides power between the national (federal) government and state governments. Students will define and give examples of enumerated, reserved, and concurrent powers, locate relevant clauses in the Constitution or civic examples (e.g., defense, education, taxation), and analyze brief scenarios to determine whether authority is federal, state, or shared. Designed for Grade 6–8 with moderate analysis and explanation required.
