Assess graduate students' understanding of the mechanisms by which antibiotic resistance genes disseminate in bacterial populations, including horizontal gene transfer (conjugation, transformation, transduction), mobile genetic elements (plasmids, transposons, integrons), selective pressures and population dynamics, ecological and clinical drivers, detection and quantification methods, and interpretation of experimental or surveillance data to evaluate interventions.
