Students will select climate-appropriate plants and justify choices; calculate bed layout and plant spacing for a specified plot size; estimate weekly water needs using given plant water-use rates and compute an expected seasonal yield; and produce a simple weekly maintenance schedule (watering, weeding, fertilizing/composting, harvest). Require clear assumptions, step-by-step calculations, basic unit conversions, and a brief explanation of decisions. (Grade 6–8, applied problem-solving.)
