Assess learners' ability to apply rhetorical strategies to plan and write persuasive op-eds: identifying audience and purpose, selecting and balancing ethos/logos/pathos, structuring claims with evidence and rebuttals, choosing tone and rhetorical devices, and producing a concise, persuasive lead and conclusion; items will include analysis of short op-ed excerpts and composing brief passages that demonstrate effective persuasive technique.
