Test students' ability to analyze and compare cohesion and coherence strategies in research-article introductions from the humanities and the natural sciences. Items will assess identification of lexical cohesion, discourse markers, thematic progression, paragraphing and rhetorical moves; comparison of disciplinary patterns and functions; evaluation of how strategies shape argument clarity and reader expectations; and brief revision suggestions to improve coherence.
