Assess student understanding of cellular respiration in eukaryotes, including glycolysis, the citric acid (Krebs) cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. Expect identification of cellular locations (cytoplasm, mitochondrial matrix, inner membrane), major inputs/outputs (glucose, pyruvate, acetyl‑CoA, NADH, FADH2, ATP, CO2), key steps and regulation points, the electron transport chain and chemiosmotic ATP synthesis, role of oxygen as final electron acceptor, and analysis of ATP yield and effects of pathway inhibition.
