Assess learners' ability to apply Raft, Paxos, and PBFT to design and troubleshoot fault-tolerant distributed systems. Evaluate knowledge of algorithm guarantees (safety, liveness), failure models (crash vs Byzantine), leader election, log replication, quorums and view changes; trade-offs in performance, complexity, and consistency; and practical skills in selecting/configuring algorithms, designing replication and membership-change procedures, interpreting logs/metrics, and diagnosing and repairing faults (network partitions, stale leaders, state divergence) through scenario-based problems and short design/debug exercises.
