Test learners' ability to apply life cycle assessment (LCA) methods to evaluate and reduce the environmental impacts of consumer products; scope includes goal and scope definition, choosing functional units, interpreting life-cycle inventory data, impact assessment categories, hotspot identification, simple functional-unit calculations, scenario and sensitivity/uncertainty analysis, and recommending evidence-based eco-design, material or end-of-life strategies and policy interventions with justification of trade-offs.
