Assess undergraduate students' ability to identify and analyze rhetorical strategies and persuasive appeals in opinion-editorial columns. Items require identification of ethos, pathos, and logos; analysis of evidence, tone, framing, rhetorical devices, audience targeting, and logical fallacies in brief op-ed excerpts; and a short written evaluation of the author's purpose and persuasive effectiveness with evidence-based justification.
