Assess educators' ability to design and evaluate tasks that require students (Pre-K–Grade 2) to analyze and compare multiple decomposition (part–whole) strategies for numbers up to 10 using manipulatives. Include representing numbers with counters, ten-frames, rekenreks or fingers; generating all partitions; explaining and justifying strategy choices; solving missing-addend and equivalence problems; and identifying patterns and efficiency across strategies.
