Assess students' ability to apply low-impact development (LID) and green infrastructure (GI) principles at the suburban watershed scale to reduce stormwater runoff and improve water quality. Items will cover site and watershed assessment, selection and justification of appropriate BMPs (bioretention, permeable pavement, swales, green roofs, detention/retention), basic sizing and performance estimates (runoff volume, peak flow, pollutant load reductions using common methods), layout/ connectivity across the watershed, plus maintenance, cost, regulatory, and monitoring considerations; responses should include short calculations, sketches, and written rationale.
