Assess students' ability to translate two-variable word problems into systems of two linear equations, solve them using substitution, elimination, and graphing, and analyze/compare methods. Tasks should require modeling with appropriate units, selecting and executing an efficient solution strategy, interpreting solutions in context, and identifying or explaining inconsistent or dependent systems. Designed for Grades 6–8 at an advanced difficulty level.
