Assess graduate-level ability to analyze propagation of systemic shocks across interdependent infrastructure networks (power, transportation, communications), focusing on how network topology (degree distribution, centrality, modularity) and cross-layer coupling drive cascading failures; evaluate modeling and simulation approaches (percolation, load-redistribution, interdependent-network models), identify critical vulnerabilities, and propose and justify mitigation and resilience strategies while critiquing model assumptions and trade-offs.
