Assess educators' understanding of how illustrations and text in picture books work together to show characters' feelings and sequence events for Pre-K–Grade 2. Tasks include identifying emotions from facial expressions, color, and composition; explaining how words and images support or extend one another; sequencing events using paired text and pictures; and creating classroom prompts to guide young children's interpretation and discussion.
