Test students' ability to apply literary analysis and creative writing by adapting a traditional folktale to a modern setting while preserving its central theme and characters' motivations. Students will identify the folktale’s core theme and each main character’s motivation (short summaries), write a 150–250-word modern scene that retains those motivations and the theme, and submit a 2–3 sentence justification explaining how their choices maintain the original meaning and respect cultural origins. Suitable for grades 3–5; assesses applied analysis, narrative planning, and ethical adaptation.
