Assess learners' understanding of how deforestation alters the water cycle (evapotranspiration, runoff, infiltration, and local precipitation), alters local climate (temperature, humidity, albedo, and microclimate), and reduces biodiversity (habitat loss, fragmentation, species interactions); tasks will include explaining mechanisms, analyzing cause–effect relationships, and evaluating ecological and land-management responses to mitigate impacts.
