Assess students' understanding of how urbanization alters local climate and hydrology: causes and impacts of urban heat islands, how impervious surfaces change runoff, infiltration, flooding risk and water quality, and basic stormwater management concepts (green infrastructure, detention/retention, permeable pavements). Include explanation of mechanisms, interpretation of simple data or diagrams, and evaluation of mitigation strategies.
