Assess students' ability to analyze and classify common animals (for example: dog, bird, fish, frog, snake, butterfly) by three attributes—body covering (fur, feathers, scales, smooth skin), primary movement (walk/run, fly, swim, slither, hop), and typical habitat (forest/grassland, pond/wetland, ocean, desert/grassland, air). Students will sort or label animals, provide a brief justification for each classification, and identify patterns or group similarities across the three attributes.
