Assess learners' ability to analyze confounding and selection bias in observational clinical research: interpret and construct directed acyclic graphs to identify bias paths, select and justify appropriate causal methods (propensity score matching/weighting/stratification and instrumental variable analysis), articulate and evaluate key assumptions (exchangeability, positivity, SUTVA, IV relevance/exclusion), apply diagnostics and sensitivity analyses, and critically interpret causal effect estimates and limitations.
